asking for a bank statement would definitely ring alarm bells

however for info, I think this is the comp it is referring  to:    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6070392/e-15-01-win-a-trip-to-the-super-nintendo-world-theme-park-in-tokyo-japan  which ended in january.  You could email the sites running it to ask and let them know if this is a scam

    The terms and conditions state:
    18. The promoter reserves the right to verify all entries and the winners, including, but not limited to, age and eligibility to enter, and to refuse to award the prizes, or withdraw prize entitlement, where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or any instructions forming part of this promotions entry requirements.
I'm minded to think they're asking for proof of age and eligibility to enter (i.e. that you live in the UK), and that it could be genuine.

As I said I couldn't find the competition.  Thanks for your help.  Sigh.
Thank you to everyone else.  I will email the site directly to ask them if this is legitimate, not holding my breath though.

Did you do this? (as unique codes were required for more than one competition I doubt there would be an official one that did not need a code)

I believe GamesRadar has run many competitions which have been posted on here,  I will contact their customer service via their website and not via the email received.
