Voice in a Million Concert

My daughter is in Year 6 and every year our school attends the Voice in a Million concert held at Wembley Arena on 17th March. The school purchases the tickets for the children to attend - £15 for them to attend and get a t-shirt. Then the parents have to purchase their own tickets to watch. We were encouraged to buy our tickets together as then parents are more likely to get a seating position near their children. I purchased (on behalf of many parents) 37 tickets costing £980. The parents all paid me for the tickets and the tickets were supplied by VIAM before lockdown. As the concert was so close to lockdown we were advised by VIAM that concert was postponed with the hope that coudl happen this academic year. We have now been notified that will not happen this academic year but they are refusing to issue refunds to the school and the parents! They stated "Unfortunately like every other company there is no magic fix to this situation, so to confirm we will not be refunding, we will be offering a resale opportunity only" and refer to their terms and conditions. Our children can not attend the concert as when it occurs their won't be at the school. Parents are asking me for refunds - what can I do? Every parents would have spent £75 - £90 on this event!

Well you could show them the correspondence for starters just to prove it isnt you being the difficult one.
Did you pay them directly or were the school the go-between?1 -
Hi foghorn03, you are not alone. It seems there are many of us that are trying to get our money back from voice in a million Jo and her husband seem determined to hang onto these thousands / millions of pounds unlawfully. I noticed they have deleted there main VIAM Facebook page last week as many angry people like yourself who are entitled to a refund were commenting on their Facebook page and it was very interesting to see VIAM deleting all comments as they were being made and then eventually the whole page was deleted I’m assuming they couldn’t cope with the negative comments And didn’t know how to handle the barrage of requests for refunds. Whilst searching for their page this week on fb I did notice that there is a new Facebook page which you might want to join called ‘VIAM refuse to refund’ it seems there is a well established large group of angry customers have come together and formed a group to get their money back. So you might want to join that group to see if they can be of any assistance. Im in the same position as yourself, I’ve contacted them several times without response - rang the office the phone message says they are not taking any phone messages currently. They should be offering to either re book or refund those that would like their money back. My daughter has spent three months preparing for VIAM now she hasn’t been at school for three months and isn’t due back till sept at which point there won’t be a choir. So for us we would just like to get our money back and move on.But we like you have been refused (although it took some time to get a response)0
