If I lose my credit card – would connected Apps need updating?

It's all in the title I suppose, my credit card is linked to a couple of parking apps used by London Boroughs – such as "RinGo" / "PayByPhone".
If I was to lose my credit card and order a new one, presumably these apps would be disabled – can anyone confirm if that is the case?

You would have to update it everywhere.

It would not disable the apps although the payment would likely fail

It depends on how the app is written and how your credit card provider sets up things.
When my Amex card was replaced everything continued to work that was already in place as Amex don't use the card number internally, they use an account number, so CPA transactions against the old number were honoured e.g. spotify. ApplePay also continued to work as it uses a token rather than the card number.
When my partnership card was replaced I had to update quite a few things.
