Hi all,
We are due to go to Florida in November. We have known for a while it is highly unlikely we'd be going but thought we can wait until September when all of our payments are due to make any decision.
Yesterday though, I received an email from the company we booked our tickets through who have now said that we must pay by the 7th June (instead of the 20th ish of September) to guarantee our Disney tickets. If we paid it off and decided not to go this year we would have until next September to use them, but we would still be going in November next year so that doesn't really suit. If we decided to cancel then they will give us a credit note.
We bought both our Disney and universal tickets through the same provider as part of a bundle but we've received no correspondence about universal and it obviously depends on that too, as well as the fact we haven't budgeted to pay off any tickets this month.
Is it right that we would only be able to get a credit note if we cancelled or are we able to get a refund of our deposit seeing as they're the ones who have changed the conditions of payment?
Thanks in advance

How much have you paid?
How much have you still to pay?
Who is the provider?
My GUESS is restrictions will be lifted by November, but question is do you really want to risk Covid 19?

We have paid £50 deposit (£25 each). And the full amount is £1618, so a further £784 each, but this is for both universal and Disney, but it's only Disney who require their payments now. But the ticket company (attractiontickets) have asked for payment now and we bought it as a package, if that makes sense.
I know it's only £25 deposit each but that's not the point in my opinion.
Like you say, we were unlikely to go whilst covid was still a big threat. Also, Disney is not having parades/meet and greets and not offering a full service in my opinion so another reason why we would unlikely to be going.0 -

To me that reads "we are desperately short of cash, and need to raise some"
I could be wrong, but with the amount of people cancelling this years holiday, I personally don't feel getting tickets will be any problem this year.

Hi, this is something that Disneyworld have requested all third party sellers to do as Disneyworld have suspended all new hotel and ticket sales for the rest of the year. They plan to look after existing customers so need to know who is planning on using their ticket this year. Tickets need to be fully purchased by 10th June or will be cancelled by Disney. Once you activate your ticket you will then need to pre-book specific dates at the park due to capacity measures. If you go onto The Dibb forums you will find lots of people discussing this.Life__Goes__On said:

Seems the TA missed that important part of info.

Yeah but the problem is that Disney sell the tickets to agents in batches and the agents sell them on to the consumer allowing them to pay a deposit. So in Disney's eyes they are just cancelling off unwanted tickets. I assume they would refund the agent for any unactivated tickets so I don't see why the agent couldn't refund the deposit. Although the agent agreed to the terms they would not be expecting Disney to do this and won't want to risk the consumer failing to pay them and being left to foot the full cost. Anyway, it does seem complicated and lots of people on The Dibb don't know what to do. Once activated you have until September 21 to use them but no good if not planning to go again until after then.Life__Goes__On said:

Unfortunately I didn't say this in the post as the email didn't state it specifically came from Disney.Life__Goes__On said:

The email also specifically said "if you decide to cancel your deposit will be returned to you as a credit note" not a refund like you have said, hence why I have asked the question on here about legalities0 -
How I see it (others might offer a different opinion) your contract is for the tickets and them to be paid on 20th Sept.sellwin90 said:The email also specifically said "if you decide to cancel your deposit will be returned to you as a credit note" not a refund like you have said, hence why I have asked the question on here about legalities
But now they want to change the contract to say if you don't pay by 6th June, we can't guarantee the tickets.
So for me the TA is breaching the contract you agreed to. So I see two options, agree to the new terms and pay, or get your money (in cash) refunded, claiming the breach.
This is if there isn't and T&Cs that allow the TA to do this.
