O/S Daily Tuesday 2 June 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning message.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Cloudy overcast start to the day - air not quite so warm this morning..
DH up and gone to work stupid stupid early, DS1 getting ready for work and I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 is settled and happy.
Dinner last night was LO bbq, hot new potatoes, side salad, pork pie, chicken, HM colesalw - a bit of a mixture of things that needed using up. Tonight we'll be having fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg/salad.
Yesterday work was busier than we have been, so we're expecting the same today. Lots of enquiries after a mail out. There are customers now coming to the doors and more telephone enquiries about when are we going to re-open - that still won't be happening for a while and it won't be on the same basis as it was before from what we've been told so far.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks NMLC.. The sun is shining but, according to forecast, this will be my last sitting in the garden day for a while. My best friend and her hubby are coming up this afternoon for a book swap. She has a big bag for me and I have a bag for her. We are going to sit in the back garden for a natter, even though we are in contact regularly by phone and email. It will be the first face to face contact since March.
Not a lot else planned, the jobs have been piling up waiting for the weather to break. So that'll be tomorrow then with no excuses.
The window cleaner came yesterday and had a right job on with the messy back bedroom window, courtesy of the wood pigeons not watching where they were going. He said I must be on their flight path judging by the state of them. Shiny and clean for now until the next one hits it.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. GERS I love the sunny yellow it will make the room look so cheerful. NELS I hope you had a lovely day with your best mate. SNOOZER sympathy over all the plumbing problems. Take care all, stay safe and alert x

Good morning and thanks for starting NMLC.Yet another fine day, I know we need rain but all this sunshine has been lovely, especially during lockdown.Camelot I'm with you about what you were saying yesterday about the longest day approaching.then the days shortening, I dread the dark winter days. Yet they pass, I know, and it's no worse for me than anyone else.We went out for a long walk yesterday, I don't know what today holds, though there's some shopping for 2 elderly sisters I know. We'll take it to them tomorrow.Snoozer that drink you mentioned sounds nice.Anyway, hope everyone has good days, take care folks13

Good morning everyone
Sorry for being away, I haven't been very well and ended up with a couple of days in hospital. I need to go back and have a camera and biopsy taken in my womb so worrying times for me. I am putting on a brave face for my family as they have had enough stress from me to last them a lifetime. Fingers crossed it will be nothing to worry about but I want to be as well as I can be for the procedure.
Things are chugging along nicely here at the moment, Lee is still baking. Today is going to be bread rolls and fancy Italian pizza bread. They both sound delicious and the kitchen will smell nice too. Phoebe is waiting to see when she will go back to work. She is very nervous about it as she has barely been out since lockdown started but I am sure she will get back into the swing of things soon. Steve has been wonderful, he has been looking after me so well I couldn't ask for more.
Today I am going to rest up as I had scans and was generally poked and prodded a lot over the last couple of days and I feel very sore and achy today.
I think we are having chicken korma for dinner tonight and I will have cauliflower rice with mine as I desperately need some vegetables in my life
.
Anyway, glad to see you are all doing so well and enjoying having the restrictions lifted a bit. The weather has been wonderful as well but I will be thankful for a bit of rain tomorrow. Take care everyone xx

Morning
Looks like the last spa day here for a while
hopefully it will be back up and running sooner rather than later. Au revoir party today so don't be late.
Had a lovely couple of hours with my friend social distancing in the garden yesterday we sorted the world out as you do.
Today I have a long list of care calls to crack through before hitting the sun for the last time. Its supposed to rain tomorrow so hopefully it will be enough to turn the lawn from a dusty brown colour to a semblance of green. In my next life I'm planning on astro turf for the all year round green and just a quick hoover round occasionally
Food today will be mussels chips and a baguette ...easy and one of my favs
have a good day all and enjoy the last few rays12 -
Morning All
The sunshine has yet to make an appearance but it's bright and very warm already. I stayed either inside or in the shade yesterday as I've had a bit of a sun rash on my arms.
Gers, the room will look lovely when it's painted, the colour is so sunny and bright.
Enjoy your visitors TA.
Hope you feel better soon dumpling.
I sorted out the laundry room yesterday, it's where I keep all the spare duvets, etc. Washed all the storage bags and their contents, I seem to have a collection of summer quilts that will last me a few years yet!
Nothing planned for today so will go with the flow. May make my last visit to Nelski's spa for a while! Take care. XX12 -

Morning all
Another bright sunny day here but meant to rain tomorrow
but then more sunshine for the rest of the week but cooler so I shall be making the most of today. I shall be at Nels later lets make this party a good one ! the lemonade was lovely btw so I shall bring some of that along again.
OH is going shopping this morning so will do a list in a while. i shall stay here and tidy through and have a quick shower then pack up a sandwich and get out on our bikes for a good ride we did 10 miles locally yesterday which was lovely.
Dinner tonight will be filled pasta with garlic bread and salad so a quick but tasty meal we will probably eat outside.
DD's pup picked my new lily out of the pond yesterday and decided it was a lovely game when we all started to chase her round the garden, we finally got it back and Ive put it back in its basket but I just hope it survives it, otherwise dd has said she will buy me a new one.
Snoozer that drink sounds lovely and I have book marked it for future reference xx
Gers the room colour sounds really nice xx
Dumpling hope you feel better very soon and the tests turn out ok xx
Have good days all xx14 -
Hello lovelies, another sunny day in store for us, but we're also due for a change tomorrow. I'm hoping for a bit of rain too, not something you'd normally hear from me but the garden really needs it.We shall be taking Dad's hedge cutter back this morning then call round to check on the van. The compound is secure, so I shall wear gloves and use hand sanitizer to unlock/ re-lock the gate. There are never many people there at one time as a rule, so social distancing will not be a problem and the compound is huge. This afternoon it's digging time ! Actually I need to re-dig to break up the soil, then I can start to level the ground, I think there may be too much soil there for my purposes so it will need to be barrowed to somewhere else. I've yet to think where it will go, so I may just put a tarpaulin down and use that temporarily. I was suppose to take something out of the freezer last night ready for today's tea, but I forgot. Oh well I'll rustle something up.I shall swing by M.E's for some refined afternoon tea and not go to Nelski's first. Last time I went to the spa before tea I couldn't see straight to put the jam on my scone
Those " fruit teas " were a bit strong ! I must go to Nels place later though as I believe it's a last night party and also "Conga night ." I wouldn't miss that for the world, it's the only thing that's keeping me sane ! ( and I have a certificate from the asylum to prove it
) Dumpling sending you healing vibes and gentle hugs.Gers that colour combo will be really lovely and cheerful.TA enjoy seeing your friends. Have a lovely time.Snoozer sorry about the plumbing woes. I hope it can be fixed without spending an arm and a leg.Take care all, stay safe and keep well. Enjoy the day.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12
