Lanzarote wedding venue

Hi need to some advice, my daughter had booked her wedding in Lanzarote for the end of June, obviously cancelled to jet2 not flying! She has paid a wedding planner deposits for the venue where the reception was taking place. The wedding planner has offered an alternative for next year, she has decided she doesn’t want to get married abroad now after being let down by Thomas cook and now this virus! She didn’t take out travel insurance so not sure where she stands getting her deposit back from the wedding planner?

Has the planner or venue comfirmed that they will be closed for the wedding date?

Hi they will be open to locals but not tourists, or to hold the wedding

Which method of payment has your daughter been using?

Hi she has paid into their account using her bank account not a credit card

Should really avoid bank transfer where possible.

No insurance + Bank transfer = not much chance of getting the money back unless the wedding planner agrees to it.
