Travel insurance cover

I booked my holiday (before covid19) for 7th July 2020. I got an annual policy of travel insurance for mid July 2019. This means there are a few days at the end of my holiday where I am not covered by this insurance policy. Due to not being able to start a new policy until 30 days prior to the start date I was planning on buying a new policy 30 days before. Do I still need to do this or will my insurance policy cover me for the entire duration of the trip?
