Driving test date could be after theory test expiration.

I understand the reason but also recognise that most drivers on the road right now couldn't pass a theory test today. I don't think that in real world terms, road safety would be compromised by giving people an extra 6 months on their theory in a situation like this. But even if they don't, a free re-test would seem a reasonable compromise.neilmcl said:
There's a good reason why the there's a fixed window between passing a theory test and passing your driving test, the fact that we've been dealing with this virus doesn't change that.mobilejo said:
Agreed. Which does seem rather unfair. Hopefully they will change the law.gt94sss2 said:It looks like he will have to retake the theory test

Judging by the standard of driving on the roads most of the time I am not sure road safety would be compromised if they just let anyone drive after applying for a license online.mobilejo said:I understand the reason but also recognise that most drivers on the road right now couldn't pass a theory test today. I'd agree with you on that.mobilejo said:

Just a word of warning it’s incredibly difficult to get a theory test booking at the moment. Mine runs out in October (I’ve been learning to drive for 2 years but it’s taken me longer because of my disabilities) I have managed to get a booking for October- two weeks before my previous theory test was due to expire- but that was literally the first available date. Fortunately it wasn’t too much of an issue for me but I know it could be for some.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200
