I hold investments on the Vanguard platform and everytime a dividend has been due it's always been around 2-3 days after the payment date that it actually appears.
Thank you for your reply. IT would appear that it's normal for Vanguard not to credit the dividend payment on payment date.  They do say that it takes upto 10 days to process.  I wonder why they need all this time to process the payments.

If they are not prefunding then 2-3 days would be typical.  The have to wait until the funds are received and cleared before applying it to the account.   The prefunding ones pay on the day from their own funds and wait for the money to arrive to replenish their funds.

The "up-to 10 days" is there to stop people ringing in after 3-4 days in cases where its a weekend or bank holiday and they dont know what working day means.  it also gives them a margin to sort issues.

I did email on the first occassion. I can't find the exact reply now, however I gather it was along the lines of they recheck what had been received in throughout the year and check it against what was about to be paid out. (They put it much better than that though).

I hold VLS80 on the Iweb platform. As of a couple of hours ago, the dividend had not appeared. So it's not just on Vanguard's own platform.
3 IT dividends due on the 29th appeared on that day, and one appeared on the 1st July.

Transaction will be recorded as having taken place on the actual event day. Even if the administration/processing lags slightly behind.
