I have a bicycle which needs new tyres for me to be able to ride it again. How do we get the repair voucher the government has announced please?
details are in the post above yours

"Vouchers will be issued for cycle repairs, to encourage people to get their old bikes out of the shed" is the only detail.
Exactly, more details will follow I assume once they are available

That's 'detail' of the scheme according to Mr Shapps!
On 5th June Cycling Weekly were told:
The Department for Transport told Cycling Weekly they aim to open the bike repair scheme at the end of June.
“We have announced £225million emergency funding for Local Authorities to build cycle and walking infrastructure. The remaining £25million will go towards bike repairs to enable more people to cycle.
“We are aiming to open the bike repair scheme for applications by the end of June – we will be registering shops/mechanics to participate in advance of this.”
Still no news on this - the link above still says the same - 'available to customers shortly' - which it has done for weeks.
Worth noting that Halfords, who have signed up to the scheme, now have a webpage about it where you can register (just an email needed) to be notified when the scheme goes live. https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-maintenance/fix-your-bike-scheme-439790.html (you need to ignore the 'book a slot dialogue at the top of the page and scroll down to the keep me informed dialogue lower down)
Might be worth doing - for the heads-up - even if you don't want to use Halfords.
And if you don't want to use Halfords the original link https://fixyourbikevoucherscheme.est.org.uk/ does have a map showing where signed-up repairers are, so you can get an idea of which cycle shops near you are taking part in the scheme.

Cycling
Take the bike for example, previously we announced the introduction of a scheme to help bring bicycles back to a roadworthy condition…
… relieving the pressure on public transport, and improving the nation’s health.
Today I can provide the detail of the new £50 bicycle maintenance voucher.
Available from next month, the scheme will help up to half-a-million people drag bikes out of retirement.…
… Speeding up the cycling revolution…
… Helping individuals become fitter and healthier…
… And reducing air pollution, which remains a hidden killer.
Clean air should be as big a priority for us in the 21st century as clean water was to the Victorians in the 19th.

So, that's confirmation of the £50 from Shapps and an 'aim' to open the scheme by the end of June from the DoT.
We can only wait and see...
