Student Bank Account Overdraft?? Help!

Hello,

I opened a Halifax Student Account last December but havnt had regular income going into it. There is an overdraft of £1000 on it and i am at the bottom of it :S
They have sent me a letter saying that my overdraft expires on the 18th of December and if i want to apply for a new one i can fill in a form.
I do get a student loan but it is paid into another account. I have just transferred it over, so on the 7th of Jan £996 will go into Halifax. If I go to the bank and explain this to them will they keep my overdraft? or is it too little too late? I really dont no what to do, I wouldnt be able to pay back the £1000 in 2 weeks.
