Hello,
My child has middle rate DLA however lately her health has got worse as she is having fits and also can stop breathing. These are new symptoms which have taken her to A&E twice recently.
She is waiting to see consultants at the hospital, waiting to have tests however we have A&E discharge letters, will these be enough? My daughter can not be left alone in case of a fit or she may stop breathing.
The Covid-19 situation has meant we don't know when we will be able to see the consultants at the hospital.
Her other condition is the same, for which she got DLA middle rate.
I want to reapply for the higher award of DLA, has anyone done this? We don't have much paperwork at the moment.

The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer - I was in my late 20s when I figured out what this meant.
I neither take or enter agreements which deal with interest. I dont want to profit from someone's misery.

You can't reapply because you already have a claim. You can report a change of circumstances for a worsening of condition. She must have had the worsening of condition for at least 3 months. To qualify for high rate care she must also need help/supervision during the day and night. If she doesn't need night time supervision/help then she won't qualify for high rate care.

When I got DLA for seizures I never got more that middle rate care, as poppy12345 says for higher rate child would need care day and night.0
