Shared parenting through coronavirus

Does anybody have an understanding of the law around lockdown for cornavirus? There is a bit that says where children have parents in two houses, the children can continue to move between the homes to see both parents to keep whatever the current arrangement is in place. Does anyone understand that as meaning the parents can spend time at each others' houses?

The child can move between the homes. Nothing more complex than that.

No, not the parents, the child.

What do you mean by spending time?

if it's for say a cup of tea & a chat then as I understand it then yes you can do long as it's outside & you observe social distancing but if it's an overnight stay then I'd say no.

but as a parent you have to follow your instincts as to what's best for the child

Only the child is except from the social distancing in that situation. The parents will have to follow the normal rules.

    (2) For the purposes of paragraph (1), a reasonable excuse includes the need—

(j)in relation to children who do not live in the same household as their parents, or one of their parents, to continue existing arrangements for access to, and contact between, parents and children, and for the purposes of this paragraph, “parent” includes a person who is not a parent of the child, but who has parental responsibility for, or who has care of, the child;"
