Car Lease Returns

Hi,
My car lease contract comes to an end on 17th June 2020.  I have been in touch with the lease company to arrange a collection and quite understandably they have told me that they are running very behind with the collection of their vehicles.  They have stipulated that I must keep the vehicle on my drive, take a photo of the mileage, a photo of the car all around and I must not drive the vehicle.  All perfectly fine.  However,  I have been told that I must keep it insured until such a time when it can be collected as per my contract.  This I disagree with as surely the contract does not take in to account the unprecedented times such as corona virus.  How can I be expected to pay the insurance until they catch up with all their collections.  It could be months.!  Does anyone know whether this is correct please.
