Joint Current (Or Savings) account

Hey all
Partner and I are thinking of a joint account for things like holiday fund, etc, it doesn't necessarily have to be a current account (although an account with card(s) would be handy) - but we're a bit unsure as to how to go about it.
My partners' main account is with RBS, as well as a savings account (with card). I'm also with RBS however I use that current account (and linked Savings) account for my 'Pocket money'; I've also a Nationwide Flexdirect account with a  couple of linked savings accounts, while my salary goes into another bank (lol). (The Setup is, wages account for debits, shopping money and some savings goes to the NW account and surplus to RBS) - yes convoluted I know!
Anyhow, the questions are:

1) Any available/recommended joint savings accounts with cards?
2) Is it possible (say with RBS) to open a joint current account without affecting both our single accounts? (Can you do this with any bank?)

thanks in advance!

Good information about joint accounts: https://www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk/en/articles/joint-accounts

I doubt you will find a savings account with a debit or credit card. The best you can hope for is an ATM card but those are very rare, too.

Thanks Colsten. Totally off-centre (But relevant for applying for anything) I have just checked me Credit karma and there's an AML search from 19 March for a Bookies. All my details are in there except "Mr" twice - Ive raised a dispute but is this something to be worried about? (I've never set foot in a bookies except once about 20 odd years ago and don't gamble online!)

It's either an error, or someone tried to open / has opened a bookie account in your name. 19th March sounds like it could be a Cheltenham offer someone tried to do in your name? There are usually some free bet offers about at the Cheltenham Festival.

If you are sure it wasn't you, you have done the right thing raising a dispute but it wouldn't negatively impact your credit worthiness. More worrying is if someone would use any of your cards to make deposits at the bookie. Worth checking directly with the bookie whether they indeed have an account in your name.

Thanks again Colsten. It seems to be Paddy Power from searching (Power Leisure Bookmakers is the search ID), but I can't seem to find a way to contact them without having an account. I have sent an email to their 'escalations' which seems to be the only way to contact them without actually having an account. No suspicious activity on any cards thankfully.

Good piece of researching - I had never heard of Power Leisure Bookmakers before, but Paddy Power seems to be the connection. If no money has gone missing, it's not such a big issue but good luck in any case to get it sorted.

If they offer you a free bet as a goodwill gesture, you might even want to get into Matched Betting for a bit! But be careful.

Thanks again Colsten. I raised a query with Paddy Power through 'escalations' as above, they've got back today to tell me to raise a complaint via Instant Messaging (requires an account with them) or the only other option is to Twitter them, about as much use as - well, take your pick!

You could write to the Paddypower CEO, Mr. Peter Jackson peter.jackson@betfair.com (PP now owned by Betfair)

Myself and hubby have a joint account with Bank of Scotland for bills to come out then we have a joint account with Starling, we then transfer money to that for weekly spending - top up shopping, meals out, family members birthday gift, etc etc and can also save money in a bit called spaces for various different things, I love it! So easy to keep track of stuff.

Thanks Colsten, I will need to carefully compose something for Mr Jackson I think, I will give the other email address a bit more time to get back to me after replying to them I couldn't use their live messaging!

Thanks Sofee3, Starling sounds worth looking into. We've just opened a joint RBS Account, which was quite quick and now shows online and on each others Apps - just waiting on the cards to arrive. We are in discussions (!) about "Pots" within this; my other half simply keeps everything surplus in one savings account while I am of the 'seperate it' clan - possibly a bit overkill though!
