Ebay offer from buyer outside UK

I received an offer from a buyer on ebay at the item's listing price. In the message they ask to be contacted asap directly through phone number or email address which concerns me - I only want to use ebay messaging. They are also in another country outside the E.U. I use the GSP for international buyers but if I accept the offer does this mean I've agreed to send the item to that country myself? I'm also offering free P&P for UK so would I then also have to pay for the international shipping within the offer price? Because they've sent the message within an offer, the only way I can seem to reply is by making a counter-offer and adding a message to that. There doesn't seem to be an option to just send a message.

Don’t contact them outside eBay. If you accept the offer then all your usual shipping options apply as normal, so it would be GSP.

It smells, I’d decline the offer.

It’s a scam- the moment they want your phone number run a mile. They will arrange a deal and you’ll get a fake PayPal email saying they have paid. An offer can be made for a GSP offer and all the normal rules apply in that you  ship to the UK centre, buyer can’t change that in the offer, however the asking for a phone call or personal email is the give away. The US forums are plagued with these messages .

Thank you both for your help and quick replies. It did set alarm bells ringing when they were asking me to contact them directly and implying urgency asking me to contact quickly (its only a book and not expensive). I'll decline the offer and add a message that I can only contact through ebay messaging. Good to know about the GSP. Thank you.

If you did want to message them you should be able to click on their username which will take you to their profile and you can contact them there. However if your auction doesn’t offer international shipping then I wouldn’t entertain any offers from international Ebayers.

My own candid advice is that u be patient in your dealings with them. It is better not to contact them outside Ebay. Please beware of scammers.
