in Cutting tax
Hi all
Can anyone tell me whether the calculation of net adjusted income includes gross employment earnings or net employment income after things like mileage allowance and professional subscriptions ?
The online guidance is pretty vague and hmrc calculator just asks for salary.
Thanks

Thanks Jeremy. So just to be clear that the answer is yes ? this quote is a bit vague:
”Step 1 - work out your ‘net income’
Add up your taxable income.
Include things like:
- money you earn from employment (including any benefits you get from your job)

If you receive a taxable mileage allowance, it will be included. A tax free mileage payment for miles on business trips at HMRC agreed rates is not included. If you get tax relief for professional subscriptions, deduct these. Basically, it's what you pay tax on, or would do if you had no personal or similar allowance.1
