Crown Matt paint Internal Wooden Doors.

My nice wooden internal doors have started to show faded marks around handles.
These were installed 2-3 years earlier.
As I want to diversify from Dulux paint, I'de like to try Crown this year.
I don't want to particularly use Gloss, is there any concerns using Crown Matt paint,
Amazon user think it should be fine.
Crown site recommend various Gloss type paints.
What do MSEr's thinks, Id'e prefer Non Shiny doors.

I've been renovating and decorating for almost 40 years, I'd never use Crown paints again. For wood, I'd suggest you look at Johnstones Water Based Satin.
The term "matt" usually applies to emulsion paint you'd use on walls and ceilings. Satin, eggshell & gloss are the paints to use on trim (doors/skirting etc).
In my experience, indoor oil based white paints from most brands tend to fade to a creamy colour after a couple of years. Water based doesn't suffer from this.

It's down to whether oil or water based but it's hard to differentiate and I've found gloss and satin paints inevitably turn yellow if not exposed to sufficient light.

i switched to eggshell a few years ago and haven't had a problem since. I'm guessing that the eggshell finish are all water based. I like the finish it gives as well.

No, it's not the right product for woodwork. Look under the product details on the page you bought it from, eg Homebase says "Product Details - Usage - Walls & Ceilings".
It will peel off previously painted wood in no time. Emulsion is for walls and ceilings (ie stuff made of plaster/plasterboard).

Even if it didn't peel off, a matt finish is bound to hold on to dirt like nobody's business - not what you want on a surface that gets handled by all and sundry.

Even Matt woodlwork paint will hold dirt.  Dulux Diamond oil based eggshell wood paint is excellent.  Hardwearing, can be wiped down to remove dirty marks around handles and no yellowing.

Did some of the woodwork here with a Johnstones satin - Shows up dirt very quickly, so not the best if you have small children or pets (especially dogs). Most of the dirt does clean off, but it will need painting again every couple of years...

I found one google search which advised Matt could be used on wooden doors, though can't find it again.
Not too worry, Bathroom Ceiling 1st before considering Non Shiny door options.
    thanks,
