I personally invest in Vinacapital Opportunity Fund specialising in the Vietnam economy. Excellent growth forecasts going forward, and I can see Vietnam being a winner in the US - China disputes. The manufacturing sector is currently booming in and around Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh (mainly due to cheaper labour than China)

If you invest in an emerging markets index you get no exposure to Vietnam because it is classified a frontier market. Similarly, the world’s second largest economy, China, comprises about 1.5% of a world index fund or 3.5% if you include Hong Kong. There are important differences between the world’s actual economy and stock markets' definitions of the world economy.
