My June Cruise has been cancelled due to the pandemic and I have received a full refund back from the tour operator yet StaySure refuse to give me a refund on my policy despite no longer providing me with a service. Are they legally allowed to keep my money under the circumstances? thanks

Yes , if that's what their terms and conditions say.

You have had the benefits of cover from when you took it out .

Was it single trip insurance ?

I’m not sure when you originally brought the policy but as Browntoa says the cover begins once purchased. You might not have had to use it but it was there as a safeguard like all insurances.

As above. That's what insurance is all about. If you'd had to cancel because of insured reasons, before this pandemic came along, you'd have expected the insurance to have paid out.
We renewed our annual policy in January. We won't be travelling this year now, the insurer (a major provider) is no longer selling travel insurance or refunding cancelled policies. Put it down to a coronavirus cost, people have suffered a lot worse.
