Furlough workers earning more than workers

It the way the system is set up. I know a few people who have two jobs, furloughed for one job that is full time so are still getting paid for that and are working the 2nd job but now not working the 1st job doing more hours in the 2nd job so getting far more money then were before. I have no idea why they included overtime in the scheme when it was meant to be a job protection scheme.0

Yes, that's reality. The furlough scheme is saving companies money so they are reluctant to bring staff back to early. My OH has chosen to go back but the reality is those on furlough are probably better off! It is what it is.1
