Until recently, we were picky and would only eat Kellogg's or Nestle cereals.  We recently tried some supermarket own brand "rice crispies" which were almost the same as the Kellogg's ones.  The saving was quite big also!

Do you have any particular brands or supermarket own brands you really like?  There are some people at work who buy all their food and groceries from Lidl and Aldi and swear by them.  What are their cereals like if anyone has tried them?  I tried the Lidl own label crisps once after someone recommended them to me at work but they were just not for me.

Between them, Aldi & Lidl have some great Muesli and Granola products - I particularly like the Lidl Luxury Muesli and Aldi Reduced-Sugar Granola (Apple & Raspberry flavour).    All of them are much cheaper than branded (sometimes less than half the price).

For more general brand-alike cereals, I prefer Sainsbury's Red Fruit Balance (like Special K) to either of the Lidl or Aldi versions.   Both stores' Malties (like Shreddies) and the various Shredded Wheats are good though.

Asda High Bran cereal or Sainsburys High Bran are a lot cheaper than All-Bran, tasty too. Asda Fruit'n'fibre also cheaper and as good as the branded ones. Not surprising though, supermarket brands are made often by the large brands.

I don't eat any cereals, but my husband, who eats gluten-free, has tried loads of GF stuff and his favourites are the Nature's Path berry granola (in the purple bag) and the Nairn's oat muesli. He hates all the gluten-free cornflakes.

Another vote for the Lidl Luxury Muesli. My DH loves the one in the blue bag. We don't shop much in Lidl so we stock up.
I'm happy with Aldi 'Weetabix' . I can't tell the difference.

I love Dorset Cereals choc cherry granola (dark chocolate curls).
I found it in a little freezer !!!!!! end-of-line shop and stocked up but it's hard to get hold of.
Dorset Cereals do some really nice flavours.

Anyone tried the own label coco pops or rice krispies etc?  Are they any good?

I can't do muesli for the life of me.  It's just too fibre-lic-ious for me if you know what I mean.

    Me neither.
    I find it too 'pappy'.
But I do like granola. It must be the baking that makes the difference.

I don't have a gluten-free diet, but I also like the Nature's Path berry granola the most

Yes. Rice crispy equivalents at least from the likes of Aldi, Lidl, Tesco & Sainsburys - not choocy ones - and it's surprising how bad some are, being undercooked and/or unevenly cooked and they certainly taste nothing like.
The only 2 I have found no decent equivalent for are both Kellogs, with their Rice Krispies and Cornflakes.
    I've tried, really I have.

Weetabix, hoops, shreddies etc. the equivalents can be very good but with those two, equivalents elude me.
