Do contents insurers hold your bank details on system in case of a pay out or would you have to provide them at the time if it ever happens ?
im asking because I used to have an advocate and their bank details might still be on the contents insurers system ?

I would have thought it very unlikely that they'd just send you money to the account used for the premium payment, without checking first. Anyway, these days the chances are they'll (as far as possible) just buy you replacement items rather than send money.1

How do we know?Why not write to your insurer asking them to delete any card or payment details they hold for you?And to cancel any 'auto renew' instruction they might also hold - this is a moneysaving site and auto-reneawal is (almost) never money saving!1

I can remember now When I renewed it last year they didn’t ask for any details just a card number for the premium so I’m guessing they don’t store any bank details

called them up and the only details they have on their system is my debit card I used to pay the premium with
In the case of a claim I call them up and they take it from there
