Im self employed and haven’t been able to work during the lockdown. Prior to the crisis I ordered a new car but I’m now not in a position to complete the deal. Can I cancel and will I get my £2,500 deposit back?

Have you tried to contact the companies involved and asked them?Life in the slow lane0 -
What does your contract paperwork state regarding cancellation?

OP do a little digging and find out what the lead time was at the time (you should know that) and what the lead time is now. When did you order?
What you are trying to discover is if the car has been made and if it is in the country, if the answer is yes to both of those I suspect they will fight back quite hard.1
