Hi all,
I deposited funds into my HL account yesterday after noon but i am slightly confused by my balances:
Value of stocks: £3000
Capital Account: -£1700
Is this because HL has allowed me to buy the stock even though they haven't received the payment from my debit card? Thanks

If you made the debit card payment yesterday, it wouldn't have gone through yet (you'll see it is still pending at your bank). However, HL will make the funds available to invest immediately.

That's normal, it will sort itself out as the cash gets cleared.

Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."1
