Caravan and Motorhome club storage sites

Whilst I understand these are unusual times I am far from happy with the caravan and motor home clubs access to their storage sites.I bought a new £60000 motor home , paid £350 and put it into a C&MC storage site 18th March. C&MC have denied all access to my property ever since , they say this will continue until July 5 th at least .( 3.5 months)
Motor vehicles and expensive leisure batteries do not fare well during lack of use .las they sulphate up during deep discharge and are never able to hold a full charge again and need replacing. They furloughed 90% of staff and Failed to contact me regarding their plans to stop all access into storage. Had they I would of had the chance to remove my batteries or my motorhome from storage and prevent the damage which has now happened.
It was a simple thing to do.
My tracker company have text me to say my batteries on my brand new motorhome are flat . My alarm no longer works,
My insurance is Is possibly invalid . C&MC will not take on any liability for water ingress or damage to my motorhome going forward nor grant me access to check and fix the damage or discuss partial refunds of storage fees to cover the cost of new batteries.
can they do this ?
is this legal to deny all access to your property even in these times.
90% of all storage sites have remained open through most of this crisis as they understand owners need to check and maintain their motorhomes, just not the C&MC sites it seems. Are they allowed to keep fees paid up front for a service and then take money from the govt to furlough staff, is the Hercules aware ?
kind regards
Dave

Typo... HMRC not Hercules 😂0

That's pretty awful to be fair, I'd also be very unhappy and if batteries have died as a result, I'd expect help with the cost of replacements.
Just a quick note, the health of a business and / or them taking money doesn't affect any furlough claims (or other help for the most part), so they're entitled to use the scheme as they wish even if taking fees.0 -
There is specific legislation coving Covid and caravan sites. Have a read of that and see if there is anything in that about storage sites.0

Surely if it has water damage that would be a warranty issue? You can hardly blame the storage co if it leaks.Life in the slow lane0 -
Where do you get your figures from of 90% of all storage sites are open. This was just before lockdown? We all had some idea lockdown was going to happen , did you query what would happen.0

Not being able to attended to it in a reasonable time would be an reasonable argument.
my main concern with the C&MC is that in the week leading up to lockdown I was in daily contact with them and told I would be allowed access as usual, should things change all members with storage would recieve an e mail and have a chance to remove their property or batteries etc.
no e mail was sent, the storage is at the back of my house on my dog walk, over the last few months I’ve heard alarms going off as batteries run down but C&MC refuse all access to attend to this and will not allow access until at least 4th July .
My new batteries will not recover from this, the batteries will by now be sulphated and be about as much use as a heavy doorstop and require replacement.
this could of been avoided.
I have been on many forums and discussed access to other storage sites and it seems 90% have had access throughout.
Good old C&MC,0 -
Did you get any of this in writing .0

Yes, on the C&MC messenger social media site, it’s been the only way to contact them since all are furloughed.0

We cannot get access to our private caravan store either, it is part of a campsite. But I fitted a solar panel to hopefully keep the battery charged well worth the £40 IMO.0
