Jet 2 about to take full payment Monday for a holiday 13 July

We have an issue, with what has been going on were hoping for Jet 2 to cancel but they haven't. We were going to lose the deposit and try and cancel the holiday (all paid on credit card so far and final payment also to leave by credit card) we called Jet 2 and they said you have to cancel 70 days before the payment date for them to not take it. Is there anything we can do to stop them taking the money on Monday??

It was 70 days before the holiday sorry not payment...0

What date is your holiday? Jet2 might cancel and you will get your money back, if however you have decided that you do not wish to travel then that is another problem, can you not contact them and ask if you can move the holiday to another date?0

The holiday was meant to be 13 july. We cant get through to them to actually speak to a person. How can they justify a holiday so close to now when restrictions are still in place? Happy to lose the deposit but not the rest!0

If the restrictions are revised - in other words, if the Foreign Office advice against travel is lifted, then that is the green light for package holidays and flights etc. to go ahead - assuming the host country has opened for incoming tourists. In which case Jet 2 can proceed and will have honoured their side of the agreement. As alluded to above, changing your mind does not constitute grounds for seeking a refund. The best case scenario for you is if Jet2 cancel - or they may (at their discretion) allow a change of dates.

You can go on-line to Manage My Booking (or similar) and there is an option at the bottom of the page to amend your booking. That is probably your best option, other than to wait, in the hope that travel to your destination will still not be permitted. Restrictions will only be lifted when it is considered safte to travel, so if you decide not to travel after that date you will lose the money. The only way to stop the money being taken would be to cancel the card used.

As mentioned in the long running existing jet2 thread , they have been very good with refunds ( not vouchers ) and amendmentsEx forum ambassador

Sadly our holiday that was due to leave on 30th June has been cancelled. The advice I got was to let the payment go through and if it got cancelled then I would get a full refund. The alternative would be to lose your deposit (and possibly additional payments). I am still waiting for Jet2 to contact us (as per their email).I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!1

PS: I believe that Jet2 are expecting to take to the air again on 1st July, but who knows. They may only have limited destinations from limited departure points at that time or a full flight schedule or the date may be pushed back further.I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0

The Jet2 statements needs to be taken as saying they won't be starting before 1st July, not that they will be starting on the 1st July. As said, even if they do start it will only be to a limited number of destinations. For example, the UK is not on the list of countries from which Greece will accept travellers.IvanOpinion said:PS: I believe that Jet2 are expecting to take to the air again on 1st July, but who knows.
