Digital purchases, what are my rights?

Hi all,
I made an online purchase for a digital product (download and licence key) back in 2018. I still have the installer downloaded but I don't have the key any more. I tried to install it again but I found I was unable due to the missing key.
The company that I got it from has moved from a shop to a subscription based service and removed all evidence of the purchase from my account.
They are saying they don't have to provide me with the licence key because I have already downloaded the installer and so their purchase agreement is complete.
What are my rights in this? Is there no way for me to recover my purchase?
TIA

I would have to say that if you had received the key at the time then your ability to look after it is not the problem of the company. If you never received it, that would be different.3

Did you receive the key via an e-mail attachment?
If so and you've deleted the e-mail, there is a small possibility that might help. Install an email client such as Outlook and set it up with the e-mail address in question and let it run for a while and it should collect e-mails from your account. Even if you have deleted the mail in question, it may well still be on the server of your e-mail provider. I did this a short while ago and found mails dating back to 2013 that I had previously deleted on my PC.

If you bought a new lock for your front door, and lost the key, does the supplier then have to give you a new lock and key?
