VILLA robbing PLUS

Hi can anyone help. should have gone on holiday with the above scum on the 17th may, not had a word from them until today when they say sorry that we couldnt get to our villa and they are not liable for any refund. how the hell were we supposed to get to Portugal when they and us are in lockdown. we only purchased the villa from them, so we are not covered by package hols regs. these people brag that they are atol and abta bonded but that is just a badge it dosent help at all. sorry for the rant but I'm well annoyed as there were 9 people hoping for a holiday. I have used this company for the last 6 years, I will never use them again unless the change their attitude. stand to loose a lot of money. any advise gladly welcome

Was tourist accommodation in Portugal open? If so then you'll need to claim off your travel insurance. If not try a chargeback/section 75 from your card issuer.

Hi, At the time we should have gone no Portugal was in lockdown. I have mailed the insurance company (big blue travel). but just really annoyed with villa plus, no communication all the way through until almost 2 weeks after departure date. 4 of the 9 people due to go were key workers, so it really stinks, i wil be letting them know what i think of their disgusting tactics. best of it is we would have accepted a holiday next year. Oh well thanks for the reply

I was in the same situation with a villa only booked for Crete on 12th May. Greece is still locked down for tourist accommodation until June 15th. I started a chargeback for service not received, but a refund was processed a couple of days ago.
