Virgin change of flight

Apologies if this has already been covered but I can't find anything. We have tickets booked for Virgin via Kiwi for 10 June flying direct Manchester to New York flight number VS127. I have checked flight status and it is now showing two flights both operated by KLM, Manchester to Amsterdam, then Amsterdam to New York with different flight numbers. Is this some devious way around the cancellation/refund rules or can I just go ahead and claim a refund on the basis that they have cancelled the flight we booked?
