Rawlbolt; remove and fill, or leave in situ?

Options
Wondering what opinions are on this. I needed to replace my TV aerial, which involved use of a ladder so I put a rawlbolt in to secure the ladder. The job is now done and unlikely to need re-doing (with a ladder at least) anytime soon as the new aerial is in the attic. Do I just leave the rawlbolt in place or should I remove and fill the hole with silicone?

The bolt is not in a position to use - unless I needed to replace the coaxial cable or the gutters needed cleaning, which they didn't after a minimum of 3years without cleaning.

If the rawlbolt is fitted well and not letting in water I would leave it as you never know when it would come in useful to tie a ladder. Besides some building do have a safety bolt fitted for this very reason - cleaning windows or securing scaffolding etc.

Leave, but test it before you reuse it again

Thanks both, sensible points. By the time I know if it lets in water I will probably have forgotten about it so it can stay, but if I need to use it I will certainly check it over.

If you do decide to take it out, my preference would be to fill it in with 1:3 cement/sand mortar firmly rammed in rather than using silicone.  It will take longer to do, but will last as long as the house.

Leave it. I have several in place for 10 years+ for the same purpose, no ill effect.
