Booked with Lastminute.com, due to leave 29/3. Cancelled by them. 10 weeks later, I have had nothing from them at all, have phoned and emailed requesting a cash refund but was told that because they are dealing with 3 agencies, the refund is slow???? The Customer Advisor stated it would be a voucher , which is useless to me. I have seen that I dont have to accept it, is that correct? How do I get them to speed themselves up..I've waited patiently for 12 weeks now.

What method of payment did you use?  Was it just one payment to LM

So....!!!!!!#### A BIG WARNING TO ALL WHO HAVE OUTSTANDING HOLIDAY PAYMENTS ####!!!!!
Booked a holiday with Lastminute  Jan...paid £300 deposit
They extended final payment date to Monday coming due to uncertainty (frankly I don't give a stuff about the deposit)
Small print, if you have not paid by specified date we will take money from your initial payment card
Flight co have told us No flight
    Hotel Co have said nothing
    Lastminute have said nothing
On their site we went through the cancellation proforma...a few days ago...rejected
    Tried again....rejected
I though !!!!!! it, I will cancel the payment through the Bank card mastercard provider
After 50 mins wait to be answered....."Sorry we cant cancel that payment, you signed to it being taken (£2900)"
I said, I dont care about the deposit, I am bothered about a payment going out for something that I know they can't deliver, they know they can't deliver, you know they can't deliver and the payment cancellation computer is down.
    "Nothing I can do"
YES I think you can cancel my card...."NO...you will have a debt registered with mastercard"
OK Cancel all my Mastercard registration so they cant ask Mastercard to pay...."NO you will get a Zero credit rating"
OK..Lets let Mastercard claim this back in their Godfatherly insurance position....."OK...you would get your money back for 45 days, during which time, Lastminute can offer you goods to the value, ie a credit note. You don't have to accept this, but they don't have to accept your refusal. Then Mastercard decide whether to claim the money back from you or a percentage..."

Whoever you spoke to is legally wrong.
It's called a reoccurring payment (even if it's just one payment in the future)  if you give you card company 1 working day noticed, it must be cancelled.

    A couple of links.
    https://www.fca.org.uk/news/news-stories/continuous-payment-authorities-it-your-right-cancel
"REMEMBER: IT IS YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL CONTINUOUS PAYMENT AUTHORITIES DIRECTLY WITH YOUR CARD ISSUER"

    https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/debt-and-money/banking/stopping-a-future-payment-on-your-debit-or-credit-card/
The law says you can withdraw your consent and stop a future payment under a continuous payment authority at any time up to the end of business on the day before the payment is due.

I think that is appalling advice. I would deffo think it is wrong also. If it was me and the payment was imminent I would phone the lost card department and say you've lost your card... surely that will stop it coming out and give you time to sort it.

So glad I "lost" the card they have registered for me.
It's replacement has a completely new number, expiry date and three figure no on the back.
When my time comes the ball will be in my court !!
Advise anyone who faces a similar potential money grab by LM to do the same.
