Center Parcs Reduced Facilities

We have a break booked with Center Parcs for late August, by which time we’re hopeful that things will have returned to a relative level of normality. However I am concerned what rights I have with my booking if they are unable to provide the holiday we expected when booking, and would like some advice before we have to pay the outstanding balance in a couple of weeks.
If Center Parcs is open and they say that our holiday can go ahead, but facilities such as the swimming complex (which is one of the main draws and reason we are prepared to pay the premium price) is not available due to social distancing restrictions etc, would we have the right to cancel the holiday with a full refund?

What do their terms and conditions say about certain facilities being unavailable.?If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I don't think anybody really knows the answer. I would think it more likely that if the centre is full steam ahead with one or two restrictions then you would probably not get a refund but you may be able to rebook? But must admit I am getting confused with what is enforceable and what isn't as it is such an abnormal situation. Will be interested to hear what others say myself.0

You would be looking at the significant change rule.
There is no set law on what is a significant change, it's a judgement call.

Just found this in the Ts and Cs...If we are aware in advance that:The Subtropical Swimming Paradise will be closed for a significant period or25% or more of the amenities on the village are not available, and as a result, there would be a material impact on your break, we will offer you the following options, subject to availability:Change the start date of your break,Change to another UK village,Continue with your break, orCancel your break with a full refund (without cancellation charge0

I don't feel at the moment it's not just what is closed or open.DanCull said:Just found this in the Ts and Cs...If we are aware in advance that:The Subtropical Swimming Paradise will be closed for a significant period or25% or more of the amenities on the village are not available, and as a result, there would be a material impact on your break, we will offer you the following options, subject to availability:Change the start date of your break,Change to another UK village,Continue with your break, orCancel your break with a full refund (without cancellation charge
If you have a family break, for me a big part of the break is for the kids to have fun, and if they want to mixed with other kids.
If they have to keep to social distancing, tell them they can't mix, I would personally class that as a significant change

I have always wondered how they divide and calculate the 25% - does a restaurant count as one amenity? Is the entire swimming facility one amenity? What if all the slides are closed but the pool is open?

Bet you they will somehow fiddle with it and claims that it's less than 25%, therefore no refund.- Tony Sutton0

I expect places like that will reopen and some people will be unhappy, as it will turn out not the holiday they paid for.tsutton said:Bet you they will somehow fiddle with it and claims that it's less than 25%, therefore no refund.
