PPE

Good afternoon, what are the rules governing PPE, where someone who worked all through the epidemic by phone, now has to go back to face to face interviews, can that person refuse to comply if PPE is not supplied?

The 2 metre rule can still be acheived with face to face interviews.

There are many settings where PPE isn’t or hasn’t been provided during lockdown, you will have to take some responsibility and practice social distancing.... that should be perfectly possible with face to face interviews with a desk in between you and spaced out chairs.

An individual can always refuse to go to work.  An employer can always discipline / dismiss an employee.

You should probably go back to work, but simply ask what the procedures are to ensure COVID-19 compliant work place.  The employer has all the same duty of care and need to follow 'reasonably practicable' steps to ensure your health & safety.

Think for face to face interviews it is fairly easy to keep 2 meters away. So not sure what the issue is and why you would need PPE unless you were interviewing hospital patients.
