Afternoon Hypno..hope today hasn't been as frantic as yesterday!!!0

Morning all - DD has stopped being sick so is now just recovering and sleeping lots. Seems to have been a "short sharp" bug which at least means it should be short lived, although very nasty yesterday.
Housework wise - lots of washing and drying was done by OH yesterday while he stayed at home with DD, and as I didn't get home from college until almost 10pm I didn't do anything else...........sorry
Hope everyone has a good day today!!
My son was sick in school yesterday and sent home. I have trouble getting him to school, and the next minute when he is there he is sent home sick.!! Cant win.
Funny there is no school here today and he was up and ready to go out at 7am. Shouted by mum, and I said where are you going? Hed forgotten school was off till next Tuesday. (mind you he was off to his friends around 9am. I told him to be back for 3pm. Well hes still not back. So here we go again. Time to moan on my own thread I think. x:mad:When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Today's running around is now done - while DS was at karate (DD too ill to go, but is much better) I nipped into the nearest supermarket to do some bits of shopping - mainly for salad stuff for lunch tomorrow.
Sadly the nearest supermarket was Waitrose.......and waitrose don't *do* value stuff  So my one measly carrier bag of food cost me over £12
Oh well, I won't be "nipping in for a few bits" again in a hurry!!
I also tried on some of my work clothes suitable for city life........need to work a bit on weight loss/exercise over the next few weeks - I have worn trouser suits at the prison, and when doing the therapy stuff I went for the "comfortable" look  but I have some fab classic dresses and skirt suits that hang in the wardrobe that I paid a lot of money for so that they would last, and they are likely to be staying in the wardrobe unless I lose a few lbs.
So.....I have 6 weeks until I start the new job, so aim to lose half a stone in that time - hopefully that will be enough for me to get those clothes back on, and from there I can assess how much more I realistically want to shift.
Have made a good start today - had very healthy food, and NO CHOCOLATE (but I did have 5 bars yesterday). I need to stick to this.......I am very good at losing a few lbs then putting it straight back on.......time to investigate the weight loss threads on here I think

hi hypno, been a long time!
another new job? hope this one brings in loads of money for you!!!
sorry to hear dd is poorly, have they done their skiing? how did you get on with all the cartridges?0 -
Has your quidco isa tracked yet hypno??Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000
Mortgage Overpayments Pot £10790 -
LJ!!! How fab to see you!! How is life with you?
Cartridges are still coming in - we have had looooooads :j They had a fab time skiing, and go for their last stint out there next Thursday, when I am going with them :j :j :j for two weeks - then they are done for the moment.
The new job will pay me a significant amount more than the current one (60% pay increase!) so that is going to make a big big difference to the debt-stress levels that we have in this house!
So, all in all, life is not too bad really - busy busy busy as always, but it is all paying off......slowly but surely!
I have just ventured over to the "no more pies" thread.............:oSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

No, not yet - I checked earlier today. I will wait until after Easter bank holiday and then put in an enquiry I think - although they do not show as being particularly quick as tracking.
Also, the car insurance hasn't tracked either and I noticed that they show as even slower trackers so can't really put in an enquiry for that one yet either - but again, after Easter I think it is reasonable to start the process.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. It doesn't stop for you, does it, hypno! And now its weight loss! Well, if anyone can do it, you can - mind you, if it wasn't for those classy dresses, those of us who actually saw you on the Sunday show would be saying, "you don't need to lose weight!"
Well, I'm off tomorrow - hurray, getting off the island for a few days! Hypno, I hope you and all your posters and lurkers have a good Easter.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
