Back home! Thankfully the afternoon passed quite quickly and I didn't even have to get grumpy

Went to Morrisons on the way home and managed to get some reduced bits and pieces. Also, started collecting savings stamps for next Christmas - OK, I know it might be more MSE to put the money in a high interest savings account towards Christmas, but this way, there can be no temptation to dip into the money and hopefully by this time next year I will have a little bit of money put away to do the big December shop without the panic factor setting in!

The children received £50 ski money today, so that went straight off the ski debt......signature and snowball to be updated immediately!

The children are well pleased that they passed their grading, as am I, as it was done in front of the top karate guy in the UK who visits once a year and is notorious for failing. There were lots of kids in tears today but thankfully mine were not included!

Pandapaws - trust you to skip through the diary and only see the bit about a saucy book!!

LJ, nice to see you :D

Have a good evening everyone - I am hoping to have a bit of a board catchup!

What's this about a saucy book? I must have missed it.

I got a "lucky dip for teens" selection from the Book People but one book in there was very definitely NOT suitable for the 13 and 14 year olds that the rest were aimed at . I rang to point it out and we had a bit of a laugh with customer services, and they are sending me a more appropriate book!

How did I miss that? And what are you going to do with the unsuitable book?

I read it (just to check it out as unsuitable, of course) then lent it to a friend, then I am sending it on it's MSE journey. Sort of pass the parcel with a book!!

Thank you brummiebabe!! I am fairly motivated right now, so that has got to be a good thing - This week sees my first anniversary of joining MSE, so it is quite strange to think that I have been doing this for that long! It has been a bit of a rollercoaster but I feel pretty good that I am able to carry on into year 2 determined to do as well, if not better, than I did for year 1.

Only done with the fab ideas and support from MSE - for example, I wouldn't have had a clue about matched betting, quidco, and piggy points without it. Also, the challenges have given me something to get my competitive teeth into, and the things like meal planning and budgetting have made my money go that bit further without actually missing out on nice food etc.

So, thankfully I was directed here. Thankfully you all made me welcome. And whether you like it or not, I am here for a while longer :rotfl:
