Monday morning again - supposedly the most depressing day of the year, because of debt and the weather. Well considering we are in debt all year, I don't suppose it will be any different than normal, so hurrah for the consistency of being in debt all year round - no seasonal lows here

:rotfl: Hurray for looking on the brighter side!!! ;)

...and Happy first day of the week -- think of it this way, another day closer to being Debt Free!!!
    4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)
(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)
    ...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)
New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)
Psst...I may have started a diary!

HI Hypno - one tiny thing is bothering me. Your sig says your no 1 target is the family debt, so why are you paying the lunch savings to Egg? Sorry to be such a nerd!

The lunch plan sounds excellent Hypno - I've not been feeling 100% really and my appitite's so funny I've abandoned pack ups for now but when I go back to them I think I'll do a similar thing.

Sounds like you had another busy weekend, glad you're children are enjoying themselves - bet it makes all the hard work and getting the money together worthwhile!

Didnt want to get out of bed, but I did. Managed to stick to my rota for about
2 hours!! Then it went a bit wavey. So I am on here to check my emails, write a bit and get me back on track. Have been doing the washing and have finally put the bread on I was going to do last night, and never did.
Like the attitude to Monday. As all my days have been the same lately I never really remember what day it is anymore. Good job the mobile phone tells me!!

Mooloo I can't see any reason why social services couldn't come up with respite (or "rest bite" as someone wonderfully typoed the other week :) ) for the girls and babies so you can have a holiday. Would it really be much of a holiday with two toddlers who will be walking by then or at the very least crawling at 100 miles per hour-especially in a strange enviroment. Plus as you say it's a LOT of extra money to find. If you aren't having to be really specific about a place with good little ones facilities you're likely to get much better value too (just avoid half term week). I'd definitely have a chat with the social worker-a week to recharge seems very little to ask considering the amount of time you are giving to the girls and the babies, Go for it ! You deserve a break and a recharge.

I have a place I can go to in Portugal for a week in october, so I try to aim to do that. As you say, if its just my son and I to pay for, we can save and hope for the best. If we can get respite care for the girls, and babies then I should be able to go. But I wouldnt want to go without the DBF and he wouldnt want to go without his family.,So thats when it starts to get expensive. Anyway best way is to save, save and save a bit more.

Ah ha! Because I pay off in minimum chunks of £50 to the family member to make it easier at their end to keep track of it, I could put £1.50 away each day and then when I have £50 i could pay it over, but that will take ages, whereas Egg will let me do minimum payments of tiny amounts, so I can actually pay £1.50 straight off the debt, and feel the instant sense of achievement that it brings!

If I get more than £50 coming my way at any time, that goes off the family debt.

Speaking of which, I will go and transfer £1.50 without any delay!!

Hi Hypno, hope you had a good day at work.I have been bashing away at this and that. Just thought I would let you all know that the council finally pointed me in the direction of a 6 bedroomed house!!! I have had a quick look at it, but DBF and I are going together to look again tomorrow. I need him to keep my feet on the ground, cos me and a 6 bedroomed place, is sort of WOW. But I would not be able to keep my dog.:o
It would be good to have my own room, (says she whistfully!) but I mustnt let that be the only reason. I have to make sure its a livable home, and for how long etc. I also dont have a clue what the rent/rates would be either!. But I suppose if the council are going to be helping me with housing benefit and they pointed me in that direction, I will manage.
Now as I said on my thread, time for a bath.:T
