She can certainly request a chargeback but whether this is request is accepted is a different matter. Even if it is accepted and successful, the company concerned can dispute it and possibly get it reversed.Deleted_User said:Would she be able to request a chargeback through her bank? and any pitfalls in doing this can the company pursue her through courts?
If the 14 day cancellation period is stated in the T&C's and there was the option of reading these and the company took money in line with those T&c's, a chargeback may well fail.
For a chargeback to be successful, your fiancee would have to be able to show either a breach of contract or that her consumer rights were infringed, bearing in mind that if the company is based in the USA any rights she has will be those applicable for the state in which they are registered.0 -
A very sensible precaution...Deleted_User said: Don't think she will be clicking through any facebook link again.2 -
If she cancelled on the same day as they requested the funds. Then any chargeback is destined to failure. Regs are it has to be cancelled the day before payment is taken.
I think what you have missed is "Free Trial" means "Trial Period" Not "Trial of product"
You may also find that they have sent a 2nd product out at the same time. So be prepared to send that back, by a method that can prove receipt.

I wouldn’t be sure they won’t send another batch out, that’s how these scammers operate1

OP needs to get other party to contact bank and stop any further payments.
