Is it legal?

I had a message a few days ago about overheads and redundancy. I was sent a redundancy offer with a 30 day acceptance period. Today I got a message saying the offer had been retracted due to new circumstances. When I asked what had changed I was told it's confidential. Is that actually legal? Feel like pinnochio ATM

In the normal state of things, if the employer can take action to avoid redundancy, at any stage in the process, that is considered a good thing. Why would it not be legal to keep you on?0
-
Because they've already told me I'm redundant and made an offer whicg I'd accept.gavevme 30 days to accept. And, I thought any retraction would have to be mutual?0

Did you sign anything?0

No it's all on email. It all happened in 2 days.0

Gave me 30 days to decide in a Microsoft Word letter yesterday.0

As they have withdrawn it before you accepting it I don't see how you can hold them to it. As they said the situation has since changed.0
-
What about the 30 day consideration also withdrawn? I have a Word document.0

Do you know HR or legal?0
