  • For once Conrad I agree with you. The british market is not a bad one to be in but it is not the market ppl make it out to be. We have so many ppl selling up and investing else where. Murcia is a good bet at the mo!

Now let me tell you - my area is dominated by Asians - as soon as a For Sale sign goes up people knock on your door and offer the full asking price (as long as it is market rate) - these are called specialised buyers
This might be the case, but if I were a bank, I wouldn't even lend you a tenner on the basis of this anecdote.

glad to see I am giving all you very busy mortgage brokers and financial advisors something to do other than twidling your thumbs.

You are all so good at predicting things why did you not all predict your own demise. The truth is you are nothing but second hand car salesmen with a few letters after your name you will do any deal at any price/cost just to get your commission and a large number of you were heavily involved in the new build mortgage scam which is a major factor in causing some of the problems in the UK market - you can all babble on till the cows come home but inside you know the truth!

I'm fee based but never mind. Better to be a second hand car salesman than an ignorant !!! who doesn't know what they are doing, ignores others and has overstretched themselves with borrowing at a time the market has started to fall.

Are you stupid? You come on here looking for help, we offer it and you start shouting off like an idiot.

I think you have some issues, obviously you have the hump because your property has been down valued, and as ever another member of the public paying to much for property and its gone wrong so it cant be your fault!!

You will find that a mortgage broker would not advise on how much to pay for a property and as a few on here will agree, if you try to tell a client a property is to much your shot down in flames!!!

If you are looking for somebody to blame for house prices being to high take a look in a mirror! The public talk with the cash they are spending, and they fall for the crap that estate agents spurt out! Just think the people who are giving advice on what price to put a property on the market dont have to be able to write a letter let alone a few after a name! They get an offer and rush things through as fast as possible to get the fee, never mind that the person buying is about to make the biggest financial committment of his/her life!

If I was you I would take your bitter twisted self off and find another forum!

its so refreshing to know that there were not any Mortgage Advisors or IFA's or any Mortgage Brokers involved in organising over inflated mortgages - its all down to Estate Agents and property developers.

Dont remember over inflated mortgage being mentioned, personally I have not been involved in over egging finance, but I have to agree, self cert mortgages have not helped in keeping prices down! But the client agreed the price and we are asked to get the finance in place, I bet if the first broker says no the next wont!

As an IFA, I dont transact mortgage business as that is the role of mortgage advisers. So, I cannot see how I can influence house prices in any way.

  • Socrates. Sorry but you're out of line here. You asked a question but didn't get the answer you were hoping for. Now you're just taking it out on guys who are trying to help you.

The market is slowing. The banks have already lost money so they're being cautious. Just face the facts.

    Pufferfish.

P.S. And no, I'm not a broker or IFA.

Everyone is so pedantic here - so here is my turn - read my original post - did I ask for any help or any questions?

There are many many mortgage brokers who help their clients with fake payslips, accounts, bending the truth to push mortgages through etc.

I am not suggesting that any of the people here are responsible for such practices nevertheless it happens and it has had knock on effects.

The lenders want it both ways and in my experience are very very disorganised -I do no need any help or answers to anything I know what I know and any half decent reporter would discover these practices within a few meetings with different mortgage brokers.
