Ground Rent over £250 a year

Assured Tenancy not Assured Shorthold Tenancy. Assured Tenancy is a long term tenancy that is makes it easier for the freeholder to take back the property if you don't pay your ground rent, but is not the same as an Assurd Shorthold Tenancy. Council tenants often have Assured Tenancies while private tenants often have Assured Shorthold Tenancies which have much less security of tenure.ChloeManoey said:The problem is that when ground rent is £250 a year or more, there becomes an assured shorthold tenancy (yes, really, for definite!). With this, comes the power for the freeholder to evict you if you don't pay your ground rent. This is understandably a worry for Santander.0 -
