Villa Plus

Booked a villa only holiday for 23rd May. Up until the 20th May there update said anyone travelling in the next 3 days was entitled to cash refund. Phoned them on 20th to confirm which card to refund to on which their rep said we would be receiving a refund within the next 10 days. Fast forward to 22 May and their advice changes saying villa only bookings would be contacted separately. Today their saying were not entitled to a refund as "the villa is available and it's not there fault we cant get there". No offer of credit voucher or swapping date. I paid deposit on credit card and the balance on debit so I presume I'm covered for section 75? Obviously there's hundreds like me. Any ideas where to go from here?

  • booked a villa with villa plus for the 2nd june 2020, rang villa plus 10/4/2020 when the final payment of £200 was due as i was concerned as the corona virus epidemic was in full swing, a villa plus  representative advised me to make the final payment otherwise my holiday would be cancelled and i would lose the full amount, she also advised me that worse case scenario i would receive a full refund or move my holiday to a later date if the virus was still disrupting travel, i asked her for an email confirming the refund or moving my villa which i received the same day, feeling re-assured after receiving the email i made payment and crossed my fingers, roll on the 27/5/2020 received another email from villa plus stating i would be getting nothing, no refund, no moving the booking to a later date, NOTHING, 
    also on the email from villa plus was this quote which is very worrying!

    looking on a few other villa booking sites it seems they are refunding or at least giving vouchers to there customers with villa only bookings! 
    why can’t villa plus do the same??? 
    the corona virus has affected us all financially and this is just another big kick in the teeth when people are already stretched,  this can’t possibly be right or legal, any help would be appreciated, regards mark
