Can I get a refund?

On 14 March I visited Ernest Jones in Stevenage and purchased a sapphire ring for our 45th wedding anniversary. They didn’t have it in my size, so ordered one in for me. They txt me on 20 March to say it was in. I phoned them to say that I couldn’t collect it because I was self isolating. They agreed to post it out to me on 23 March. However on 23 March, all stores closed and I never received my ring. I’ve had an email exchange with the customer service dept and they are telling me to wait until the store reopens. The occasion has since long gone and I’d prefer a refund. Can I insist on one? Btw paid by credit card so may have to go down that route

It really looking like you just changed your mind. That's not normally a reason for a refund. All the other comments are just 'noise'.
It could be worse if they posted it and it got lost in the post.
You can still ask for a refund and see what they say.0
