Possible redundancy

My partners employer has declared it's self insolvent and he has been told not to attend work.
Administrators are looking for potential buyers if none can be found he will be made redundant. He is not getting paid until either of the previous happens and is getting himself in a panic over this.
Can he claim any benefits while this is happening or does he have to wait until redundancy notice is served?

They can look at UC, the administrators could maybe look at furlough them, as they are looking for potential buyers they may be able to acces the scheme.
