Airfrance flight - cancelled, been and gone, no correspondence

Hi all,
I was supposed to fly to NYC with Airfrance on 27/05. My flights were cancelled but Airfrance didn't send me not even one email to tell me so, and still haven't to this day even though the outbound flight has been and gone. I only knew the flights were cancelled by logging in online, but surely they are obligated to notify customers via email too?
Anyway, is this enough to apply for a chargeback? I paid using my visa debit card.
Airfrance are virtually uncontactable at this point. Every point of contact I have tried either gets no reply, or bounces back with an automated generic message.

Yes, show proof it was cancelled and file a Chargeback.
