The difference in the standing charge amounts to less than 1kWh per day, and the saving is entirely wiped out by the much higher day rate than the new EDF tariff...If you run the numbers the so-called 'cheapest' rate from CAB is in total more expensive than the new EDF tariff, so that was a fail...With the very high night rate usage the OP would have to find a flat rate supplier offering under 11p/kWh before it was worth moving away from E7 so that isn't likely to be easy to find at the moment...The new EDF tariff is actually looking pretty hard to beat...1

dogshome said:Surprises me that Cit. Adv have come up with Eon as the cheapestBUTYou are a very low user at 6073 Kwh a year in an all Electric dwelling, which means the Daily Standing Charge has a big effect on your bill and Eon's 5.45pence a day is 75% cheaper than the average0

Keep doing whatever you are doing, 70% night rate and only 6000kWh a year is an impressive achievement.E7 is working well for you it seems so stay on it and don't move away from the new EDF tariff unless you can clearly calculate that it is cheaper for your mix of day/night usage.Don't believe any of the switching sites just telling you a different tariff is going to be cheaper, use the actual tariff rates and do the maths to check...1
