Given the sensitivities and suspicions around this industry there would be far less need for caution if their reasons for the survey were more transparent. 'Data analysis' and 'Continuous improvement' are BS terms that can hide anything.

What data analysis are they conducting?  What will they use it for?  Who will they share it with?  Will their analysis be made public.

They have many more urgent and immediate 'continuous improvement' issues to deal with - like training their assessors in basic PoFA ...... and how to count to 14!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Why is POPLA collecting this info? What purpose does it serve *their* remit? None.
Yes its optional. But the data is likely to be populated by more than one clueless appellant, and once there the PPC can gain access to it - GDPR will be of no use to a court claim.

I suspect they will be collecting it so the BPA can use the data to their advantage later.
