Old Mobile Phone

I just received my £14-95 Sagem from LXDirect, as featured on 'Quick, grab it'.
Does anyone know of a charity that accepts old phones (mines still in good working order - but a little large).
Thanks in advance.

I picked up envelopes for recycling in Sainsbury's not so long ago. They were accepting chargers and instruction books as well as far as I remember and I think 'recycling' meant re-use where possible.
I'm not aware of any charities accepting them for re-use but others may know better than me.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Tesco also operate a similar service to sainsburys in case there is a tesco nearer to you , they will donate £5 to charity for every phone recycled.

I heard of a scheme once where old (but still in working order) mobiles were being fixed to be given to women who suffer from domestic violence. What ever button they press, they would get straight through to the police DVU. I can't remember what/who was collecting for this purpose, but it may be worth contacting womens aid to see if they can help.I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!I thunk I've made you think for a minute!:j :rotfl: :j0

You could check with your local schools.
I know that my children's school collects them from time to time for a local charity. Its better to be late in this life than early in the next one.

May be a little late for this now, but HSBC has a scheme where any phones collected are sent to a company and they plant a tree for every phone recycled.
I was looking for the info about the HSBC scheme and came across this link - Greener Solutions Website. It has quite a few different options on there for recycling your mobiles, so you can look down the list and see who you would like to support
Hope this helps someone in the future!Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

Also Help the Aged... they phoned my business just the end of last week asking for phones and onld injet cartridges. Don't know if its national or not though, you would have to ask I guess. Ours are in Oxfordshire. All of this might just be an elaborate simulation running inside a little device, sitting on someone's table.0
