Free boilers is one, but usually, the boiler has to be broken and beyond economical repair to get one - Call one of the big six energy suppliers (you don't have to be one of their customers).Loft and cavity wall insulation is another one being funded by the big six energy companies, so again call them to see if you qualify.Double glazing - You may get telephone calls from the likes of Anglian Windows telling you that they have a "government backed scrappage scheme" for old windows and can offer replacements at a reduced rate. It is a load of testicles. There is no government scheme, it is just a sales pitch to flog overpriced windows to the gullible. Do not fall for it. Find a local independent DG installer, and their price will always undercut the likes of Anglian, and you'll get a better service.Local councils often provide grants and loans to certain sectors of the community for a few home improvements. But with budgets cuts, these grants & loans have been cut back in recent years - Still worth contacting them to see what is available and if you would qualify.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
