    I would like to be a glow-worm.
    A glow-worm's never glum.
    Its hard to be downhearted when the sun shines out your bum.
  • isnt the postage the same for northern ireland as it is for the UK when using royal mail?? I thought it was, although i may be wrong!
    I :heart::coffee:

    Most couriers surcharge for N. Ireland and Scottish highlands and islands.

    Depending on the weights, it may be cheaper to use Royal Mail, special delivery can sometimes work out less than a courier as RM have to send across UK for same price.

    yes it cost the same to n.ireland as it does to anywhere mainland uk.
    as someone else has said if you post via courier it can cost you more as they treat it like the rest of the lepars in the north of scotland who dont deserve the same service as the rest of the country,apparently.
    ...work permit granted!

    ...the amount of times someone at a mailorder company in England has told me I don't live on mainland UK - it's like how the flip do the trains get here then?!:rolleyes: :p

    You say it was 'obvious' that the charges were for mainland UK only..but how obvious? Did you state in large letters that to ship to the Highlands or Island (including NI) that your UK rate would not apply?

    This is a difficult area, NI is in the UK and the format of ebay listings state 'UK' postage, so your NI buyer should not expect to pay anymore in charges than you show for UK.

    Yeah , I know what you mean . I have charged £8 for postage , was a baby rocker toy I sold and I am not now going to up the postage to the seller , I will absorb the loss as I can't see any way of sending the item cheaper than the courier a few posts up for £9 . Will have to remember to stick a note on the end of my auctions now stating that couriers charge more for Highlands & Islands etc so contact me first .
